Car Rental Under 25 in Salt Lake City — Rent From Age 18

If you are under 25, the big rental brands mostly will not rent to you at all — and the ones that do typically add a young-driver surcharge of about $19–$27 for every single day. Driver Valley rents from age 18 with a valid driver's license, charges no young-driver fee at any age, runs no credit check, and does not require a credit card. One flat $50 refundable deposit, and you are on the road. Find us at Park N' Jet - Mountain Lot, 2200 W North Temple, about five minutes from Salt Lake City airport.
Why under-25 rental is so painful at the big brands
Utah law sets no minimum age for renting a car — the age limits are company policy, not law. The national chains set theirs high: most require renters to be 21 or older, and renters under 25 pay a young-driver fee that commonly runs $19–$27 a day. On a week-long rental that fee alone can add $130–$190 — sometimes more than the car itself.
Driver Valley is a local company, so we set our own policy: 18 and up, with a valid license, at the same price as everyone else. No young-driver fee. No surcharge tier. The rate you see is the rate you pay.
The whole deal, in one place

- Flat $50 refundable deposit, waived entirely if you buy the collision damage waiver (CDW).

- 150 miles per day included; daily, weekly and monthly rentals.
Renting to work delivery at 18–24
A lot of our younger renters are earning with their rental. The delivery apps set their own age rules: DoorDash, Uber Eats, Instacart and Walmart Spark delivery all start at 18, so an 18-, 19- or 20-year-old renter can deliver food and groceries in a Driver Valley car. Carrying passengers is different — Uber and Lyft rideshare driving requires drivers to be 21 or older, so under-21 renters should stick to delivery. Two rules always apply: the person driving for the app must be the named renter on the agreement, and coverage bought on our site covers rental use only — when you drive for an app, your own insurance plus the app's coverage is what stands behind you.

What is the minimum age to rent a car at Driver Valley?
18. Utah law sets no rental age floor, and our company policy is 18 and up with a valid driver's license. There is no young-driver fee at any age.
How much do the big brands charge under-25 renters?
Most national brands require renters to be at least 21, and those that rent to under-25 drivers typically add a young-driver surcharge of about $19–$27 per day. Driver Valley charges no young-driver fee at all.
Do I need a credit card or a credit check?
No to both. Driver Valley runs no credit check, and you can pay with a debit card, Cash App, Venmo, Chime, PayPal or a credit card. A card is kept on file for the booking, and the refundable deposit is a flat $50 — waived if you add CDW.
Can I rent with an out-of-state or foreign license?
Yes. A valid license from any US state works, and so does a valid license from your home country. If it is not in English, bringing a passport or International Driving Permit with it makes pickup faster.
Can I deliver for DoorDash in the rental if I am under 21?
Yes — DoorDash, Uber Eats, Instacart and Walmart Spark delivery all allow drivers from 18. Uber and Lyft passenger rideshare requires 21+, so under-21 renters should use the car for delivery, not passengers. The app driver must be the named renter.
